March 2025 - Award - Painted in the Downtown Arts Centers Plein Air Event competition titled Quickdraw held in Chinatown. 33 Artist were given 4 hours to paint a scene of their choice in the boundaries of Beretania st , Fort st , River st and Bishop St, and judge David Luchak awarded my framed 30"x 40" original oil on canvas" Best In Show " and awarded $500 and featured in the Downtown Arts Center exhibit as part of Friday's gallery walk night.

Mark N. Brown awarded Best in Show at the Downtown Art Center's Quickdraw event on March 1st from 10am to 2pm and it was matched against 32 other entries. Painters in all mediums was given a map.of boundaries from River st on the Ewa end Bishop St on the Diamond head end Beretania st on Mauka and Fort st on the Makai, start time was at 10am and all canvases were time stamped to prevent a artist bringing a work that was done previously paintings needed to be hung on display grids by 2pm.
Display was at Sun Yet Sen Park next to Hawaii Theatre. Judge was artist David Luchak / Hawaii / Vermont
Best in show was awarded $500 , 2nd place $200 and honorable mention $100. All entries paintings were taken upstairs to the Downtown Art Centers to be displayed from March 4th to April 6th , with first Friday reception on March 7th. The park participants and crowd was entertained by 4 musical acts before the winners were announced
