Uninstructed Life Drawing Art Class With Mark Brown At Honolulu Museums Of Art
Every Monday night from 7:00 pm to 9:30pm, Hawaii Plein Air artist Mark N. Brown leads the "Uninstructed Life Drawing Class" at the Honolulu Museum of Arts (Room #201).
Anyone is welcome to join! There is a $10 fee covers the model's fees and rental of the room. Artists must bring their own supplies. Easels are set up in the room for the artists to use.
In this class, the models pose and the artists draw/sketch using any medium from charcoal, pastel, pencils, or paint horse benches.
The segment of the posses are broken up into 20 minute sessions.
Typical class program involves:
- 2 minute gesture poses
- 2 - 5 minute poses
- 1 -10 minute poses
- Break
- 3- 20 minute poses
The quick gesture poses are essential to Mark N. Brown's process of painting as it allows him to practice capturing the foundation of any movement or likeness in a short time.
