I<font color="red"><b>mpasto painting</b></font> is a technique used in painting, where paint is laid on an area of the surface in very thick layers, usually thick enough that the brush or painting-knife strokes are visible. Paint can also be mixed right on the canvas. When dry, impasto provides texture; the paint appears to be coming out of the canvas <font color="red"><b>giving a 3D effect</b></font>.

    Size: 18" x 24" ** Inspiration: Olomana of Windward Oahu was painted from the Heiau of Kawainui marsh, because of the remoteness of this vantage point of one of Mount Olomana three peaks, I can identify with the hikers that attempt this hill.

  • 4/25/2022 - 2 Man Canoe Of Color
    Inspiration: The "2 Man Canoe of Color" caught my eye as a paintable subject because it was dwarfed by all the larger racing canoes in Kailua, Oahu. Although it was smaller, it had a large presence and voice because of the space surrounding it and the other canoes were stacked visually against each other which became a blur, making the smaller one have a loud voice.
