My Winter 2017 Plein Air Painting on Location Art Class with Mark N. Brown (12 Week Oil/Acrylic Art Class - Honolulu, Hawaii) starts tomorrow but we are still accepting new and returning students throughout the semester.
The class will be held from January 21st, 2017 to April 8th 2017. Please consider reading a couple of featured student reviews below to better understand just how rewarding this class has been for students.

If you're ready to take your art to a higher level. Let island scenery inspire you. Paint as a group at Oahu's beaches, mountains, and parks. Come prepared to paint at the first meeting, when later locations are announced. Students show their work in a group art show at the end of class, time and place to be determined. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to add my thoughts about the Fall 2016 Painting on Location class.
It is a unique experience every week. First of all, you make newcomers (and old timers) feel welcome in your typically humble fashion. This allows each participant to relax and become an active observer of the essence of whatever we are viewing. We become immersed in the most absorbing activity I can imagine: painting outdoors, on location in the most breathtaking spots on earth imaginable. It sounds like a commercial but it's true.
You also tend to attract an interesting group of painters, which only adds to the enjoyment of the whole experience. Some people arrive with little experience, others with obvious training. You are able to give a nugget to every one. I particularly like the fact that you get around to all of us, and that we get to see each other's work at the end when we wrap it up.
Your endurance and cheery disposition make you a treasure among teachers, and artists, and I thank you for allowing me to paint with you.

It's been a rare privilege to be a part of Mark Brown's painting class for the past 4 years and to experience the unique community of students and serious artists that he has created.
When we meet every Saturday to paint, we benefit from Mark's wealth of painting experience through lively demonstrations and anecdotes. His energetic and engaging style of teaching is full of his love of art and life and is truly inspirational.
Mark's personality energizes everyone in the class and he always has an encouraging word for each student, whether experienced or just beginning.
Mark continually gives us insights into his professional experiences, and has encouraged us to immerse ourselves in the larger universe of artistic endeavors by organizing gallery showings and sale events in a variety of community venues.
